A Thailand navy ship capsized in the middle of a storm in the Gulf of Thailand.
The disaster was said to have left over 100 sailors stranding. This happened on Sunday around 23:30 local time.
Officials reported that the ship- HTMS Sukhothai went down after it took on water, flooding its hull and cutting off its power. The loss of power made way for more seawater to flow into the vessel, causing it to sink. After the crew battled to rescue the ship which was listed on its side.
The incident occurred when the Thailand navy ship had been on a patrol in waters just 32km off the coast of Bang Saphan district, in the Prachuap Khiri Khan province.
