The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has denied viral content on social media that it is currently recruiting. It was through a dubious EFCC recruitment 2023–2024 application portal dated April 7, 2023.

However, the commission said that the fraudsters are yet to begin the recruitment process. Nevertheless, they went further to provide a link on how to apply and urged members of the public to “share” with other WhatsApp groups to help others. Meanwhile, this was disclosed on the Commission’s website on Monday.

Further, the fraudsters mischievously added “career” to the Commission’s website address. Then, it reads www.efcc.gov.ng/career, giving semblance to the genuineness of their schemes.

The EFCC warns members of the public not to be deceived. Also, it should be noted that the information shared on social media is fake. Furthermore, information about the commission’s activities, including job openings and recruitment can be obtained from its official website, www.efcc.gov.ng.

Lastly, any information contrary to the official website circulating on social media is false. It is definitely the handiwork of mischief-makers aimed at defrauding hapless job seekers.
