The leadership of the All Progressive Congress has summoned the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for a meeting. Also to be present in the meeting are the vice president-elect, Shettima, senators-elect, and house of representatives-elect. It is to discuss matters of the National Assembly.

The closed-door meeting will be held tomorrow, Monday, at the State House in Abuja. This meeting has got party stakeholders wondering about its purpose.

The reason for the meeting was not publicly stated. An anonymous source said it had to do with consultation and planning on the issue of zoning. The zones to be discussed are for the Senate presidency, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and other offices in the National Assembly. The source revealed that the meeting was also to prevent what happened in 2015. In 2015, a civilian coup saw Senator Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara become Senate President and Speaker of the House, respectively.

Further, the invitation to the meeting was signed by the APC National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore. It was also published on the party’s official Twitter handle. Next, guests are to be seated by 12 p.m.

Equally important, the party leaders asked that the guests come along with their Certificates of Return. These were issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission to declare them winners. Also in the statement, they were told to arrive early to the venue as there was a screening before the main event.

Finally, the event is expected to commence at 2 p.m. Guests are to come alone. It is strictly by invitation.
