Zamafara police rescue nine kidnap victims

The Zamafara State Police Command said it has rescued nine victims. They were among those abducted by bandits in Kucheri village, in the Tsafe Local Government Area of the state. The Public Relations Officer of the Command, CSP Mohammed Shehu, said the victims were rescued last Wednesday by the police tactical operatives.

 

On April 13, 2023, Police Tactical Operatives successfully rescued nine hostages. They comprised seven females and two males who were abducted on April 11, 2023, in Kucheri village, Tsafe local government area, of the state. Further, the rescue of the victims came through credible information from a good Samaritan. So, the police used it and successfully rescued the victims, hale and hearty.

Afterward, the victims were debriefed and thereafter reunited with their families. The state Commissioner of Police, Kolo Yusuf, reassured the public of a sustained onslaught against the activities of bandits and other criminal elements.

 

In related news, some bandits have allegedly received a N3 million levy they imposed on the people of Wanzamai village. There were about 85 people kidnapped, mostly women and children. However, they refused to release the victims after collecting the ransom.

Further, the bandits told the community that the money was for the purchase of motorcycles damaged by the military.
