APC urges Atiku and Obi to emulate Jonathan by accepting the defeat
The APC Campaign Council has called on LP and PDP Presidential Candidates, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar to emulate former president, Goodluck Jonathan by accepting defeat and congratulating the APC flag bearer, Asiwaju Bola-Tinubu.
The charge was made by the PCC Special Adviser on Media and Strategic Communications, Dele Alake, at a world press conference held in Abuja to address the calls for the Independent National Electoral Commission results to cancel the election.
Meanwhile, LP, PDP, and ADC had in a joint press conference on Tuesday alleged that the February 2023 presidential and National Assembly elections were marred with violence, rigging, and intimidation of voters.
In addition, the PDP vice presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa, has asked Yakubu in a similar conference to cancel the results of Saturday’s elections.
Okowa claimed that there was no transparency in the recently concluded elections because the results were not transmitted to polling units.
However, APC disclosed that those agitating for such are not true adherents of democracy.
Furthermore, Alake who is an ex-Lagos information commissioner took a swipe advising the supporters of Atiku and Obi to avoid heating the nation.
He asked the two candidates to borrow a leaf from the exemplary leadership of former President Goodluck Jonathan in the spirit of sportsmanship.
