Police raises alarm over circulation of fake election results
The Nigerian Police Force has observed that members of the general public have been involved in the spreading of alleged or fake election results on social media and other news platforms.
The spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, revealed in a statement on Sunday that such actions could create chaos after the elections. This misinformation is unpatriotic and wrong.
The NPF has warned the general public to desist from circulating such false results. He urged Nigerians to remain calm and wait patiently for INEC’s official results, which are the genuine results the country will follow.
