Serena Williams gets baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness four months after retiring from tennis.
The former Tennis Star retired from Tennis in September 2022. And she reportedly used her time away to study more about her religion, having previously expressed a desire to embrace her faith in Jehovah’s Witness.
Serena got baptized at the Jehovah’s Witness Assembly in West Palm Beach Florida.
According to the Governing Body of the religious sect in Watchtower 2019, study 40, paragraph 14, only baptized Witnesses will be saved.
Jehovah’s Witnesses are a sub-sect of Christianity and have a membership of almost 9 million people.
Serena Williams and her family do not observe traditional Christmas festivals according to the doctrine of the Jehovah’s witnesses.
According to their official website, Jehovah’s Witnesses is a denomination of Christianity that advocates both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible.
Jehovah’s Witnesses do not see Jesus Christ as the ‘Almighty God’ but rather as the son of God.
Additionally, they reject the Christian doctrine of the Holy Trinity, and also the denomination also prohibits observing holidays like Easter, Christmas, birthdays, or any festival with pagan origins.
Furthermore, Jehovah’s Witnesses are told to abstain from politics and voting.

Serena Williams is a 23-time Major champion with 23 Grand slam titles, the most by any player in the open era.
Upon retirement in September, the player was considered the greatest female competitor of all time.
She bowed out of the sport at the US Open, following an emotional defeat to Ajla Tomljanovic in the third round.
