Shakhtar set to give $25M of Mudryk’s fee to aid Ukraine war efforts

Mudryk’s former club- Shakhtar Donetsk who completed the sale of Mykhaiko Mudryk to Chelsea has pledged to give support to the Ukraine war efforts with a sizeable chunk of the fee.

Mykhailo Mudryk who will cost The Blues up to 100 million Euros will have 25 million Dollar deducted from his fee to be given to Ukraine.

The president of Shakthar- President Rinat Akhmetov said in a statement that he is allocating 25 million Dollar (UAH 1 billion) to help Ukraine soldiers, defenders, and their families.

“The money will be used to cover different needs — from providing medical and prosthetic treatment and psychological support to meeting specific requests.” He added.

Akhmetov said the money from the club would be donated to a project named ‘Heart of Azovstal,’ which is an organization aimed at “helping Mariupol defenders and families of fallen soldiers.

Furthermore, Akhmetov said he was “happy for Mykhaylo and proud of him” for landing the move to Chelsea.

He said he is absolutely confident that entire Europe will acclaim Mykhaylo’s brilliant and fine play.

Whilst celebrating Mudryk, Akhmetov also regretted that players like Mudryk can’t be invited to the Ukrainian championship and win European trophies as Ukraine is still fighting the horrendous and unjust war waged against by the Russian Federation.

Meanwhile, he still expresses confidence that Ukraine will win the match.

He also added that Shakthar would play a friendly against Chelsea at the Donbas arena in Ukraine in the future.

Mudryk joined Chelsea on an eight-and-a-half-year contract last weekend.
