Czech Republic warns against using TikTok, says it’s security threat
The National Bureau of Cyber and Information Security (NÚKIB) in Czech Republic has issued a warning against installing and using the Chinese TikTok application on devices.
The cyber authority said today that the use of the application poses a security threat. So, the office and the general public are advised to consider the use of the application and what people share through it.
Also, the director of NÚKIB, Lukas Kintr said, “The amount of data collected and its handling, combined with the legal environment in China and the growing number of users in the Czech Republic, gives us no other option than to label TikTok as a security threat.”

Furthermore, the warning takes effect for persons liable under the Cyber Security Act from the moment it is posted on the NÚKIB official board.
Also, appropriate measures must be taken by the relevant entities in Czech Republic.
In addition, Czech Republic cites China’s security and intelligence legislation, with concerns that the interests of the Chinese state may be placed above the interests of users.
It also reminds that the Security Information Service (BIS) in its annual report for 2021 identified China as a growing complex intelligence threat.
Czech Republic is not the only country to ban TikTok as US lawmakers have introduced a bill to ban the app, which US government workers are already prohibited from installing on their devices.
