Iran prosecutes woman for disrespecting Hijab

 

The Iran Judiciary has prosecuted a woman for not showing respect to the Islamic headscarf- the “Hijab.”

 

The Iran woman was said to have thrown her to the ground during a public meeting as reported by an Iranian news agency on Saturday.

 

Iran has long enshrined Into its laws the requirement for women to always wear hijab in public since shortly after the Islamic revolution of 1979.

 

And these gaps triggered nationwide protests since the death in custody of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in September following her arrest for allegedly breaching the dress code.

 

 

Furthermore, legal proceedings have been launched against a woman who disrespects her hijab during the election for the Tehran Branch of the Iran Construction Engineering Organization, said the Tasnin news agency.

 

In addition, a short video published by Tehran municipality newspaper Hanshahri revealed the moment a woman there her headscarf to the ground as participants left the meeting.

In recent weeks, several cafes, restaurants, and pharmacies have been shut down for serving customers not wearing the headscarf.
