Christian Atsu gets tributes from Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and other football figures 

Christian Atsu was reported missing after the catastrophic earthquake that hit Turkey and Cyprus.

Since then, hope has been held high that the Chelsea footballer will make it out of the rubble alive. However, it was confirmed later this weekend that his big has been found in the rubble.

Since the confirmation of the death of the late Chelsea player, Christian Atsu, there’s been an outpouring of grief and tributes.

World football has come together on Saturday to unite in memory of Christian Atsu, whose passing was confirmed this weekend.

Christian Atsu was an admired and respected player for his off-field philanthropy.

The news of his death has attracted some of the football’s biggest names in tribute to the late Chelsea and Newcastle United Wideman.

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)

We are sending our deepest condolences to the family of Ghanaian international Christian Atsu, his friends, and our brothers the Ghana FA,” read a statement shared by the Nigerian Football Federation. “May his soul rest in peace.”

 

Chelsea

Everyone at Chelsea Football Club is devastated to learn of the tragic passing of our former player, Christian Atsu,” read a statement from the Premier League giants. “Our thoughts go out to his family and friends.”

Chelsea also put a video tribute to Atsu up on the big screen at Stamford Bridge ahead of Saturday’s Premier League game against Southampton, where supporters observed a minute’s applause for the ex-ex-Blues Wideman.

 

Stephen Appiah

This was not the news we were expecting bro but God knows best,” wrote ex-Ghana skipper Stephen Appiah.

“My condolences to the widow and family of our brother Christian Atsu,” he added. “May he find rest. We will miss you.”
